Media Contact for Conflict of Interest Law Online Training Now Available in Haitian Creole

The State Ethics Commission is pleased to announce the Conflict of Interest Law Online Training Course and Summary of the Conflict of Interest Law are now available in Haitian Creole. Since the new training programs launched in January 2023, they have been available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and traditional and simplified Chinese closed captioning.
In February 2024, the Commission surveyed municipalities and public agencies using its online training platform to determine whether there was a need for additional language translations of the online training materials. Haitian Creole was the most requested language in the survey responses. Development of the Haitian Creole translations was completed in June 2024.
The conflict of interest law requires within 30 days of becoming a public employee, all state, county, and municipal employees in the Commonwealth complete the Conflict of Interest Law Online Training Course and acknowledge receiving the Summary of the Conflict of Interest Law. Since January 2023, both requirements have been completed electronically. The law requires public employees to complete the Conflict of Interest Law Online Training Course every two years, and the Acknowledgement of Receipt of the Summary of the Conflict of Interest Law annually.
The Conflict of Interest Law Online Training Course is an interactive online course with audio in English and closed captioning available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, traditional and simplified Chinese, and Haitian Creole. The Summaries of the Conflict of Interest Law are written summaries available in those same languages.
