Lawrence, MADors Gene Musgray, a volunteer at the Lawrence Drug Court and retired Assistant Chief Probation Officer, was presented with a new uniform to wear to a reunion for Vietnam war veterans at the Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. The event was held on Monday, November 12.

Musgray’s colleague, Veterans Court mentor Daniel Santiago, was able to get an updated uniform for him to wear to the reunion. Santiago, Probation Officer Lidia Maldonado, and other court staff looked on as Judge Kevin Gaffney, a veteran himself, presented Musgray with the uniform during a Veterans Court session. Musgray is the recipient of two Silver Stars, the third highest award for valor, and two Purple Hearts, medals that are presented to individuals wounded in combat.
