As the state prepared for its first snowfall recently, Massachusetts Probation Service employees at Falmouth District and Falmouth Juvenile courts as well as the Falmouth Clerk's Office staff collected and delivered more than 50 sets of hats, mittens, and gloves for children. They also provided red bags filled with water bottles and First Aid Kits to their families as part of the court's “Giving Tree" effort.

The Probation and Clerk's Office employees decorated a Christmas Tree with winter gear items which were donated to the Falmouth Service Center described as a "Soup Kitchen which provides services to those in need with the help of dedicated volunteers," on the center’s website.

"We decorated a tree with new and handmade children's mittens, gloves, and hats to help keep hands and heads warm this winter," said Bethiah Dwyer, a Falmouth District Court Assistant Chief Probation Officer (ACPO) who helped organize this charitable effort.

ACPO Dwyer said she and her colleagues are planning monthly charitable giving activities that will benefit the Falmouth Service Center such as sock, diaper, and toiletry drives. The Service Center is described as “more than a food pantry" on its website. The center also provides financial support, a free clothing room, Thrift Shop, and Client Programs such as fuel and tax assistance, as well as holiday programs.
