Massachusetts State House, Great Hall of Flags and on Zoom (Zoom link below) — We are excited to announce that the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Persons with Disabilities is hosting our Inaugural National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 at 11 am the Massachusetts State House in the Great Hall of Flags

This event will convene people with disabilities, policymakers, employers, human services providers, and other stakeholders as part of our National Disability Employment Awareness Month activities in October. Together, we will honor policymakers for their work in disability employment, recognize MA businesses that lead the way employing persons with disabilities, and share best practices for employers to hire and retain persons with disabilities. Our goal is to promote disability employment as an answer to the workforce crisis we see across industries and to improve Massachusetts’ competitiveness.

Keynote Speaker Secretary of Health and Human Services Kate Walsh will speak on the state’s support for employing people with disabilities and supporting the workforce who provides services to people with disabilities followed by honoring the 2023 EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT CHAMPION AWARD RECIPIENT, 2023 NATIONAL DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT AWARENESS MONTH EMPLOYER AWARD RECIPIENTS and the 2023 AWARD RECIPIENTS for Legislators.
