News  New Data on Chronic Health Conditions now available through 2022

2022 Chronic Health Condition data is now available in small area estimates.

Selected chronic disease small area estimates data is now available in the Massachusetts Health Data Tool for 2018-2022. These data come from advanced analytic work led by Vicki Nielsen at the Department of Public Health in collaboration with the Harvard Department of Population Medicine and Commonwealth Informatics using data from MDPHnet. 

Users can access the prevalence of five different chronic diseases, including:

  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Obesity
  • Smoking 

Users can stratify data by various dimensions and intersections, including:

  • Race and Hispanic ethnicity
  • Sex
  • Age group
  • Race and Hispanic Ethnicity and by Sex
  • Sex and by Age Group
  • Age Group and by Race and Hispanic ethnicity
