News  Probation Officer Rhonda Greene is recognized as first responder by international organization

Boston Municipal Court- Central Probation Officer Rhonda Greene was recognized as an "Essential/Frontline" employee by a local chapter of the international organization Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.

Ms. Greene, a five-year Probation Officer, was saluted for her work by the South Middlesex County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.  She has worked during the COVID-19 pandemic performing duties that range from setting up substance testing to monitoring treatment and addressing GPS matters all while the courts remained closed to the general public.

"We salute our South Middlesex County Alumnae Chapter members who are essential/frontline workers during this Pandemic," stated Chapter President Roxann Cooke. "As a Probation Officer with the Massachusetts Trial Court Probation Service, Soror Greene helps people maintain their sobriety and manage isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic." 

Ms. Greene said of her recognition, "It's nice to be recognized." 

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding more than 300,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, Canada, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea.
