The Recognition Ceremonies—which will take place at all 18 of the centers, including the four “Signature” events— are held to acknowledge the milestones and achievements of the Support Center participants, according to Vincent Lorenti, OCC Executive Director. Support Center clients enroll in treatment, education, career counseling, and case management support. CJSC clients may now access legal resources thanks to a new pilot partnership between the Court Service Centers and the CJSC’s.

The Office of Community Corrections (OCC), which oversees the 18 Community Justice Support Centers across the state, kicked off its Spring 2025 series of Recognition Ceremonies with a celebration at its Framingham center last Friday.

The Framingham site is one of the CJSC’s “Signature” events which are attended by court officials and local community leaders. The other “Signature” events will be held at the Taunton, Pittsfield, and Haverhill centers.

The celebration featured the Massachusetts Trial Court Honor Guard, remarks by Mr. Lorenti, Social Services Network Inc. President Charles Clifford, and Judge Jennifer Stark, as well as the presentation of the Community Partner Award to Marlboro District Court Probation Officer Catherine Voll.

Probation staff Christopher Connolly, Assistant Chief Probation Officer (ACPO); and PO’s Charles DiMino and Theresa Santos all spoke about the growth and progress they’ve witnessed in their clients who participate in CJSC programming. Framingham center staff—Donna Pelkey, Jess Meaney, and Justin Riley—also addressed attendees. District 2 Governor’s Councilor and former MPS employee Tamisha Civil; State Representative Kate Donaghue, 19th Worcester District; and State Representative Danielle Gregoire, 4th Middlesex, also attended.

“The recognition ceremonies are the reason we work so hard for the people that come to the support center. When people can return to their family and friends with a new sense of purpose in their life, their communities are safer and stronger. Nothing makes that impact clearer than seeing the tears of joy that are shed at these events,” Mr. Lorenti said.

The ceremonies will take place through June 20th with the next scheduled for the Springfield CJSC, 165 Liberty Street, on April 10, 12:30-2 pm. View the list of upcoming Recognition Ceremonies.
