AMONG THE CHALLENGES FACING SCHOOLS TODAY IS WIDESPREAD VAPING BY STUDENT POPULATIONS. A 2022 study conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that 2.55 million U.S. middle and high school-aged students reported using e-cigarettes over the previous 30 days.1

The use of electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes produces an aerosol with tiny particles and, according to the American Cancer Society, “the aerosol from an e-cigarette can contain nicotine and other substances that are addictive and can cause lung
disease, heart disease, and cancer.” To compound the situation, the use of vaping devices may be odorless, making detection a significant challenge.
