The Victim Services Unit is a department of the Massachusetts Probation Service. Ms. Crowninshield, who was interviewed by host Alberto Vasallo III, spoke about Victim Services’ collaboration with the Trial Court’s Office of Language Access (OLA) in offering on-demand interpreter services for victims and survivors of crime in 20 different languages. VSU assists victims with safety planning, notification of court hearings, and referrals to community resources.

Ms. Crowninshield’s interview is the second in a series of interviews about the collaboration with OLA. Narda Berrios, OLA Senior Manager and Language Access Coordinator, was featured in a May 30th interview during which she encouraged listeners to become interpreters for the court system. The interview was conducted in Spanish.
