Every year on June 15th, World Elder Financial Abuse Awareness Day is commemorated around the world.  In recognition of World Elder Financial Abuse Awareness Day, the Division of Banks is sharing a link to a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) blog on this important topic.  The blog highlights the CFPB’s Elder Fraud Prevention and Response Networks Development Guide that provides step-by-step materials that communities may use to form networks to prevent and respond to elder financial abuse.  Please see the link above to find planning tools, templates, and exercises from the CFPB to create a community network with a goal of building knowledge of elder fraud prevention

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind consumers and financial institutions that we provide elder financial abuse prevention and reporting resources on our dedicated webpage, which can be found here.
