    MassWildlife operates five fish hatcheries in Massachusetts. Over 500,000 Brook, Brown, Rainbow, and Tiger Trout are stocked into Massachusetts waterways during spring and fall stocking each year. You can visit the hatchery to see trout in different stages of growth. We do not have staff to offer tours, so be advised that your visit will be self-guided.

    MassWildlife biologists, environmental reviewers, administrators, and the information & education program staff are located at the Field Headquarters office. Visitors can view the trout pond, pick up wildlife publications, or purchase a hunting, fishing, or trapping license at this office. The LEED Platinum certified FHQ building achieves zero net energy use using a variety of technologies including photovoltaic panels and a geothermal system.
