Essex District Attorney’s Office

The Office of Essex District Attorney Paul F. Tucker prosecutes criminal offenses from the 34 cities and towns in Essex County and provides services and support to the victims and witnesses of those crimes. Through our diversion programs, non-violent juvenile, youthful, and drug-addicted offenders are offered services and drug treatment. The office is mandated by law to investigate all unattended deaths.  In addition, the office reviews child physical/sexual abuse cases, referred by the Department of Children and Families, and works collaboratively with local police and school departments, and community groups to address issues such as domestic violence, underage drinking, opiates, and elder abuse in an effort to make Essex County a safe place to live and work.
