Media Relations

In determining what information to release to the media, the Essex District Attorney's Office considers the public’s right to know, the integrity of an investigation and the rights of the individuals involved.

The District Attorney’s Office is bound by Rules 3.6 and 3.8(e) of the Supreme Judicial Court’s Rules of Professional Conduct, which prohibit prosecutors from making out of court statements that could prejudice court proceedings.
