Student Veteran Council (SVC)

The Student Veteran Council (SVC) empowers veteran leaders to directly influence campus culture, state policy, and veteran affairs across the Commonwealth. As an SVC Representative, you will serve as the primary advocate and voice for military-connected students on your campus—collaborating with a selective statewide cohort of 30 student leaders to drive meaningful change.

Core Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Governance & Charter: Participate in updating and adopting the current SVC Charter.
  • Regular Engagement: Attend the in-person SVC Kickoff Event in September, participate in sponsored community events, and join monthly virtual meetings.
  • Community Leadership: Lead and participate in at least three community service initiatives (such as food pantry ops or cemetery flag placements) and represent the council at local veteran events, hiring fairs, and networking socials.
  • Strategic Communications: Contribute to four statewide newsletters during the academic year highlighting campus initiatives and veteran advocacy.
