Joyce Sanchez

Joyce Sanchez is an Assistant Public Involvement Specialist at Burns and McDonnell, where she focuses on Outreach and Construction Siting Services. In her previous roles, Joyce worked as a Senior Program Coordinator at Boston University and served as an AmeriCorps BUCAC College Adviser at The Boston Day and Evening Academy. Prior to joining Boston University, Joyce was a Citizen Engagement Coordinator for American Promise. Joyce is active in civic and social groups and activities, both in her professional and personal life. She volunteers for local campaigns, attends marches, and serves as an Advisory Group Member for the BPDA Downtown Plan.

During her undergraduate and graduate years, Joyce completed government and community-related internships for the City of Somerville and for the Presidential Personnel Office at The White House. She also served as President of the BU Urban Planning Association during her 2nd year of graduate school. In May 2019, Joyce was awarded the Boston University Award for Excellence in Graduate Study for the Urban Affairs program, and now holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Urban Affairs from Boston University.
