Prenatal and Early Childhood Home Visiting Programs

Early childhood home visiting connects new and expectant parents with a family support specialist. The specialist may be a nurse, social worker, community health worker, or other early childhood professional.

The evidence base for home visiting is strong and growing. DPH offers several home visiting opportunities for families: Early Intervention Parenting Partnerships, F.O.R. Families, Healthy Families Massachusetts, Massachusetts Pregnant and Parenting Teen Initiative (MPPTI), Parents as Teachers (PAT), and Welcome Family. Some of these programs work together under the name of the Massachusetts Home Visiting Initiative (MHVI).
