When disposing of state-owned property the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) is sometimes required by to M.G.L. c. 7C, s. 33 to conduct hearings in the affected locality concerning suggested restrictions on the reuse of the property. Thereafter DCAMM’s Commissioner may decide to impose restrictions on the reuse of the property or to impose no such restrictions. A notice of whether restrictions will be imposed and a draft of any such restrictions then must be made available for public comment for 21 days. Please note that many dispositions of state-owned property are exempted from these requirements.
When acquiring property for state use, DCAMM is sometimes required by M.G.L. c. 7C, s. 37 to conduct a public hearing in the municipality where the subject property is located for the purpose of disclosing the conditions or reasons for the proposed acquisition. Please note that many acquisitions are exempted from these requirements.
If DCAMM determines there will be conditions on the acquisition, any such proposed condition will be posted here. Public comment on any such condition may be submitted to the DCAMM Project Manager as provided below.
The following is a list of the properties for which reuse restriction and other hearings have been held, or are scheduled to be held, with links to drafts of the proposed restrictions, if any. Interested parties may send comments on the proposed reuse restrictions via email or mail:
