The Human Service Transportation (HST) Office provides technical assistance to Massachusetts state agencies on a range of transportation issues. Our goal is to assist agencies in assuring their consumers have timely access to high quality services maximizing their potential for travel independence.
Options for agencies to consider include
- Participate in the HST managed transportation system, by having all or parts of your transportation program managed through the HST brokerage
- Request technical assistance from HST and MassMobility staff in exploring innovative solutions for the consumer transportation needs of your agency
Agencies that join the brokerage retain control over key policy decisions relating to transportation of their consumers. Participating agencies maintain full control and responsibility for determining consumer eligibility, determining facilities or locations to which consumers will be transported, determining service areas for consumers (distances that consumers may be transported), and ensuring adequate funding of approved transportation services, as well as reimbursing the brokers for consumer trip costs.
