Program Information for Current Clinicians and Students

The NHSC has numerous health workforce incentive programs including:

  • NHSC (NHSC LRP)
Primary care medical, dental and mental/behavioral health clinicians may earn up to $50,000 toward student loans in exchange for a two-year commitment at an NHSC-approved site.
  • NHSC Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
Nurse practitioners who are dedicated to working in communities with limited access to health care can reduce their educational debt. This program supports nurse practitioners who are dedicated to working in health care facilities with a critical shortage of nurses.
  • Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (S2S LRP)
Medical (MD or DO) and dental (DDS or DMD) students may earn up to $120,000 in their final year of school. Students must commit to serving at least three years at an approved NHSC site in a Health Professional Shortage Area of greatest need.
