As part of the Statewide Office of Public Safety Interoperability, Governor's Executive Order 493 was issued in 2007 establishing the State Interoperability Executive Committee (SEIC) to address the challenges facing interdisciplinary communications across multiple jurisdictions and levels of government. It was established to create a centralized interoperable communications planning and implementation capacity for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
