Theatrical Booking Agent

A Theatrical Booking Agent is any person who holds himself out as an agent of a person who seeks employment as an entertainer.

Entertainers represented by theatrical booking agents may include actors, actresses, musicians or others undertaking a "theatrical engagement." A "theatrical engagement" is any engagement or employment of a person as an actor, performer or entertainer in a circus, agricultural fair, vaudeville, banquet and other stage performances, stage productions in theaters, including floor shows, so called, in restaurants, clubs, bars and taverns, tents, arenas, halls and similar places of amusement, in accordance with M.G.L. c. 140, §180A.

Prior to operating as a Theatrical Booking Agent in Massachusetts, a person must obtain a license from the OPSI.
