Accessibility

The Park Passport Challenge is designed with accessibility in mind so that everyone can take part in the adventure.

  • Stamp Boxes – As part of our commitment to accessibility, all Park Passport stamp boxes are painted yellow for increased visibility and are installed in ways that make them easy to reach and enjoy for visitors of all abilities. They are mounted between 15 and 48 inches from the ground and are placed along Universal Access (UA) trails, following Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
  • Written Materials – We want every participant to have a clear and enjoyable experience with the Park Passport Challenge. All program materials are designed using accessible formatting, easy-to-read fonts, and high-contrast color choices to support readability for all visitors.
  • Adaptive Equipment – Our parks are dedicated to providing accessibility to all on-site recreational activities. Beach wheelchairs, ramps, and other adaptive devices are available at many DCR locations. We recommend calling ahead to ensure the device you or your loved needs will be available during your visit.
  • Language Access – DCR is committed to making all of our programs, like the Park Passport Challenge, welcoming and inclusive for everyone. We encourage individuals and families of all backgrounds, languages, cultures, and religions to participate.
