The Division of Occupational Licensure (DOL) is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill available positions on its boards of registration.
Board members have the unique opportunity to shape the future of the practice of licensed trades and professions regulated by their respective boards, by helping to develop standards and other rules governing their practice. As consumer protection entities, DPL boards strive to ensure the public safety and well-being of the citizens of the Commonwealth by reviewing consumer complaints and ensuring the fair and consistent enforcement of the statutes and regulations governing each profession they regulate.
Board members are appointed by the Governor and serve on a voluntary basis, typically for three year terms, with a maximum of two terms to be served. Board meetings are held either monthly quarterly or month, or as frequently as official business requires.
All interested applicants are encouraged to apply using the "Apply to Serve on a DOL Board" link below. To learn more about a specific DOL board, please visit the Agency's homepage, www.mass.gov/dpl, and select the board you are interested in. When applying, please be sure to submit a resume and a cover letter outlining your interest in the position.
Serving on a board of registration is a rewarding way for individuals to not only give back to their profession, but also to the citizens of the Commonwealth. We hope that you will strongly consider applying to serve on a DOL board.
