You may be entitled to a one-time $300 Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (AFEM) bonus from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. You may be eligible if you:
• Lived in Massachusetts immediately prior to entering the military.
• Served Honorably
• Awarded the AFEM for participation in combat operations when no other bonus was available.
• The main years that this bonus covers are 1976–1989 and 1992–2000.
