Bank Lists

These lists include all national banks, state banks, or trust companies lawfully doing business in the Commonwealth.

Agencies and departments across the Commonwealth work with various banking and lending institutions. The Treasurer periodically compiles lists of these institutions, which comprise of lending and banking institutions that handle cash deposits on behalf of the Commonwealth. These lists are submitted to the Governor or pertinent members of the Massachusetts Legislature, per Massachusetts General Law. In addition, the Treasury oversees the credit quality of each institution, helping departments and agencies inform their decisions regarding banking deposits and other financial needs.
