The Commission affirmed the original bypass of an Environmental Police Officer candidate as he lacked the necessary background in environmental and natural resource protection.

The Commission upheld HRD’s decision that the Appellant was ineligible to take the March 25, 2023, Worcester Fire Captain examination because she failed to meet the statutory requirement of being employed in the Worcester Fire Department for at least one year after being certified for the position of Fire Lieutenant.

The Commission denied a Fire Captain candidate's request to investigate HRD's decision to immediately apply a recent law change regarding eligibility to sit for promotional examinations as HRD provided sufficient notice in the exam poster and uniformly applied the new requirements.
