The Commission overturned the decision of the Department of Correction (DOC) to bypass a candidate for appointment as a Correction Officer I (CO I) and ordered his reconsideration after DOC conducted a flawed review process in which the Appellant was not given the opportunity to address the reason for bypass.
The Commission, after thorough review, denied a firefighter candidate's request to investigate whether HRD erred by removing his Newton residency preference after HRD discovered that it was granted as a result of administrative error.
