The Commission accepted a bypass appeal of a candidate seeking appointment to the Bedford Police Department given that the city wrongfully found that he had lied about the circumstances of his medical discharge from the military, and wrongfully considered a complaint from an officer whose brother was also a candidate.
The Commission denied the Appellant’s appeal as the City of Brockton had reasonable justification to bypass her for original appointment to the position of permanent full-time police officer due to an undisputed incident of domestic violence incident that resulted in the inability to obtain a license to carry (LTC)
