The Commission allowed the examination appeal of a candidate who had taken the promotional examination for Environmental Police Officer D (Lieutenant) and ordered that HRD grant him E&E credit for his prior outside law enforcement experience.

The Commission denied the bypass appeal of a candidate for appointment to the position of municipal police officer whose recent pattern of poor judgment in the three years preceding the bypass, including an OUI and negligent operation of motor vehicle while uninsured, reasonably justified his bypass.

Discipline appeal denied. The Appellant misrepresented his age when he took a civil service examination for firefighter. The Town was justified to terminate his employment upon discovery of this misconduct. Parties given addition time to discuss an alternative resolution.

Discipline appeal denied. The Town had just cause to demote the Fire Chief for failing to prevent his son from being appointed as a firefighter when he knew or should have known that his son was not old enough to sit for the civil service examination.

Appellant's motion for reconsideration denied. Commission's decision to affirm demotion and 30-day suspension stands.
