Probate and Family Court  

The Probate and Family Court Department handles court matters that involve families and children, like divorce, child support, and wills.

Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission  

PERAC's mission is to provide regulatory oversight and guidance for the effective, equitable, and ethical operation of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ public pension systems.

Rail and Transit Division  

The Rail and Transit Division maintains state-owned track, oversees MassDOT's freight and passenger rail programs, and seeks to increase transportation options. We strive to improve mobility across the Commonwealth by assisting, funding and/or overseeing service provided by the Commonwealth's 15 Regional Transit Authorities, local governments, non-profits, and private carriers.

Registry of Vital Records and Statistics  

RVRS collects, manages, and tracks millions of vital records in Massachusetts from 1931 to the present. RVRS also provides statistics on births, deaths, fetal deaths, divorces, and marriages. These data sets are used to help understand our population, promote wellness, and ensure health equity within the Commonwealth.

Secretary of the Commonwealth (Secretary of State)  

The chief record-keeping, public information, securities regulator, and elections officer of the Commonwealth. Our office is responsible for maintaining public records, administering elections, storing historical data, preserving historical sites, registration of corporations, and the filing and distribution of regulations and public documents.

Senate  

Consists of 40 members, with each Senator elected to represent a district consisting of approximately 159,000 people.

Sex Offender Registry Board  

The Sex Offender Registry Board promotes public safety by educating and informing the public to prevent further victimization. We register and classify convicted sex offenders according to their risk of re-offense and the degree of danger they pose.

State 911 Department  

The State 911 Department oversees and maintains the statewide 9-1-1 system for emergency services.

State Ethics Commission  

The State Ethics Commission is an independent state agency that administers and enforces the provisions of the conflict of interest law and financial disclosure law.

State Library of Massachusetts  

The State Library supports the research and information needs of government, libraries, and the public through innovative services and access to a comprehensive repository of state documents and other historical items.
