Community Health Assessment

Learn about the relationship between the environment and public health.

The Community Health Assessment (CHA) is a section within the Environmental Epidemiology Program. We triage calls and requests for help for the Bureau of Climate and Environmental Health. We were established in 1987 to educate the public on the relationship between the environment and public health.

We focus on:
- Exposure to environmental contaminants and potential health risks
- Keeping an open line of communication between the Bureau of Climate and Environmental Health and concerned residents
- Performing preliminary analyses of environmental health concerns, including reports of suspected elevations in disease occurrence and potential relationships to the environment
