What is the Leadership Academy? 

DCR’s Leadership Academy is a professional development, training, and networking opportunity to connect with DCR's mission, foster leadership and collaboration, and learn from each other. All staff are invited to participate in Leadership Academy 2026.  Hope to see you there!

Improv isn’t just about making people laugh (though they do plenty of that). It’s about making people better. Better communicators. Better collaborators. Better at thinking on their feet.  Ready to work smarter, communicate better, and maybe even laugh a little along the way? Let’s talk.

A New Location for 2026 

This year's event will take place at UMass Lowell's University Crossing, Moloney Hall at 220 Pawtucket Street, Lowell, MA 01854.    Join us in person for the full-day event or join us virtually for the morning activities!  Free parking for all attendees.  Leadership Academy 2026 welcomes you!

Great Ideas Takes Center Stage! 

Great Ideas captures the ingenuity of staff to help build a stronger brand experience through small team discussions. Sample topics may include:

•Uniform and Staff Identification

•Standardize Tools for Event Tabling

•BMP for Greeting Visitors

UMass Lowell is a smaller venue.  There are both in-person and a virtual options to participate.  Lunch will not be provided.  We are looking for cost-effective options to purchase, or you can bring your own lunch.  In-person field training will be held in Fall 2026. 

Registration Information 

Registration is now open until the end of February.  In-person attendance will be limited.  Once registration capacity is reached, staff wanting the in-person experience will be put on a wait list.  The virtual, livestream option will be available to all staff.
