Order of Dismissal

Alfred Gavaghan appealed the State Board of Retirement’s refusal to allow him to purchase creditable service for the period of time he worked for Citizens for a Better Community from 1984 to 1987.  On March 26, 2015, the State Board voted to approve his request to purchase this service.  Mr. Gavaghan never filed a withdrawal.

The Board’s action allowing Mr. Gavaghan’s service purchase request makes the appeal moot, and I am therefore conditionally dismissing it.  See 801 CMR 1.01(7)(g)3.  The dismissal will become final by April 18, 2025 unless by that date Mr. Gavaghan files a request to keep the appeal open and states what issues remain to be resolved.  If Mr.

Gavaghan agrees with the dismissal, he need take no action.
