On August 25, 2025 the Office of the Attorney General – Fair Labor Division cited Petitioners Vimlesh Verma and Paani Indian Cuisine with failure to make timely payment of wages to one employee from October 8, 2024 through October 21, 2024 in the amount of $2,321.25 and a civil penalty of $350.00. Petitioners timely appealed, asking for a payment plan. A prehearing conference was scheduled.
On the day of the scheduled pre-hearing conference, October 7, 2025, the Fair Labor Division notified DALA that the parties had executed a Memorandum of Understanding for a payment plan that included a stipulation that Petitioners would withdraw their appeal.
The parties’ agreement renders the dispute moot. It is therefore appropriate to dismiss the appeal. The DISMISSAL will become final on October 21, 2025, unless by that date Ms. Verma files a request to keep the appeal open and states what issues remain to be resolved. If Ms. Verma agrees with the dismissal, she need take no action.
