Inclement Weather Policy: What You Need to Know

When the weather is very dangerous, the Division of Housing Stabilization (DHS) may turn on the Inclement Weather Policy to help keep families safe. When the policy is turned on families can seek temporary shelter, while continuing to process their Emergency Assistance Family Shelter application.

Go to an HLC office or call (866) 584-0653, open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Mon.-Fri. Locations are found under "How to Apply" section. You can also visit the Mattapan Family Welcome Center (FWC) at www.ifsi-usa.org, contact: info@ifsi-usa.org and phone: (617) 322-1348 or (857) 251-9806

To be eligible, families must submit the following items 

Identification; Documentation proving they are a family; A criminal offender record information (CORI) background check for 18 and older; Return and review of Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check; Sign an agreement they meet all eligibility requirements of the EA Family Shelter Program
