Caring for the Woods in Your Backyard: A field trip to a recently harvested property
Overview of Caring for the Woods in Your Backyard: A field trip to a recently harvested property
This field trip is a continuation of the landowner workshop series "Woods and Watershed in Your Backyard" and an opportunity for participants to experience a recent timber sale. The consulting forester and landowner will share their goals and guiding principles for the harvest. The site visit will include discussion around regeneration, skid road layout, buffers of wetlands and stream crossings. We will also learn about how climate change and invasive species impact the planning and implementation of timber harvesting in our region.
Field trip lead by Chris Capone with John Scanlon and Cynthia Henshaw.
