City of Boston Public Meeting About Curb Ramps

Tuesday, January 30, 2024
5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Overview

The City of Boston is committed to ensuring accessible streets and sidewalks for all pedestrians, including people with disabilities. A key piece of this effort involves accessible curb ramps.

The City has recently entered into a Consent Decree which establishes goals and methods for upgrading all existing curb ramps and installing missing curb ramps at every intersection in Boston.

In order to accomplish this objective, and to meet its obligations under the Consent Decree, the City has developed an Implementation Plan for Curb Ramp Accessibility. The City is seeking input from people with mobility disabilities on this plan.

The City is holding a virtual Zoom meeting on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 pm.

City staff will provide an overview of the plan to install and upgrade every curb ramp in Boston. They will also explain different curb ramp designs, the process of prioritizing locations, the way they approach contracts for construction, and more.

The City welcomes people with mobility disabilities to attend this meeting, to learn more about the plan, and to give comments. In order to register for this meeting, please use this form.
