In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30A, Section 20, notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Energy Storage Systems Work Group of the Board of Fire Prevention Regulations scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. via Microsoft Teams Meeting.

Proposed Language:
NFPA 1 – MA 527 CMR 1 Chapter 52.9.4 – Location
ESS shall only be installed in the locations specified by 52.9.4.1
52.9.4.1 – ESS installations will be allowed in existing fire rated garages or fire rated enclosures with exterior access, or in an outside location specified by Chapter 15 of NFPA 855.
No Exemption for sprinklered buildings
