Overview of Forest Management Pre-Harvest Tour in Granville State Forest

DCR Forester Jeff Martin will lead a tour of the Hubbard River East Lot a 218 -acre planned timber sale of mixed northern hardwood. Meet just past the entrance to the solar field on Tom Hayes Road (see attached map). Attendees will then drive 1/2 mile of poor condition gravel road to the landing area. This tour will involve approximately 2-3 miles of walking on woods roads and off trail. Attendees should be prepared to be away from their vehicles for an extended amount of time and distance for this tour.
From Route 57 in Granville – Go south on Tom Hayes Road (0.3 miles west of Hartland Hollow Road / 0.5 miles east of West Hartland Road)
Other routes are not suggested due to poor road conditions, please do not follow GPS recommendations which do not use the above route.
