Overview   of Massachusetts Early Intervention ICC retreat — June 9, 2022

This retreat will be held via Zoom.

Agenda

  • 9–11 a.m.: ICC Subcommittee meetings in breakout rooms (see descriptions below)
  • 11–11:30 a.m.: Break/lunch
  • 11:30–11:40 a.m.: General Session opening, welcome & land acknowledgement
  • 11:40–11:50 a.m.: Early Intervention Division Director’s update — Dr. Emily White (DPH)
  • 11:50 a.m.–12:15 p.m.: Subcommittee report out & year-end summary
  • 12:15–12:45 p.m.: ICC membership business
    Note: A quorum of appointed, voting members will be needed)
    • Appointed members vote – ICC Co-Chair nominations
    • Appointed members vote – Proposed amendment to by-laws regarding ICC member appointment process
  • 12:45–12:55 p.m.: Break
  • 12:55–1:15 p.m.: March ICC follow-up – NCSEAM family survey
  • 1:15–1:50 p.m.: Presentation & discussion – Impact of COVID-19 on EI System
  • 1:50–2 p.m.: Closing & adjourn

ICC Subcommittees

  • *Family Engagement: The Family Engagement committee will research strategies to promote social emotional health of families in EI, with the goal of distributing to broader audience, with input from the EI Division.
  • *Racial Equity: The racial equity task group will research strategies to promote diversity in providers, with input from the EI Division.
  • *Fiscal: The Fiscal Committee will explore new and revised funding mechanisms for EI, with input from the EI Division and work to increase funding for interpreter services, with input from the EI Division.
  • *Staffing Recruitment and Retention Task Group: The SRR TG will work to address the workforce crisis within EI programs, including all contracted vendors by identifying barriers to SRR, and develop recommendations to address these challenges in the short and medium term, including consideration of financial racial equity aspects in staffing, with the input from the EI division.
