Public Hearing Notice  Medford Surgery Center, LLC public hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health will conduct a hearing to permit comment on application for Determination of Need (“DoN”) filed on June 11, 2018 by Medford Surgery Center, LLC (Applicant), 700 Congress Street, Suite 204, Quincy, MA 02169, with respect to their intent to construct a freestanding ambulatory surgery center (ASC) to be located on the campus of Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, MA. Medford Surgery Center, LLC (Applicant) is a newly formed joint venture established by Shields ASC, LLC (an affiliate of Shields Healthcare Group), MelroseWakefield Healthcare, formerly Hallmark Health, and Tufts Medical Center Physician Organization (TMCPO).

The hearing will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, commencing at 5:00 P.M. at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, School of Nursing Building, Classrooms A & B, 170 Governors Avenue, Medford, MA 02155. Such hearing shall not be adjudicatory but shall be in the nature of a public forum for the presentation of any comments which may be relevant to consideration by the Department of the proposed project. Persons wishing to make their views known may appear at the hearing or may submit written comments to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Determination of Need Program, 250 Washington Street, 6^th floor, Boston, MA 02108. Written comments will be accepted up until 5:00 P.M. on Monday, September 3, 2018.
