Public Meeting Notice  Needham-Newton Corridor Project - public information meeting - 3/23/23

MassDOT is pleased to provide an update on the Needham-Newton Corridor Project. Since our last public meeting in February 2021, the project contractor has continued reconstruction work on the Bridge over the Charles River and completed a majority of roadway work in Needham.

MassDOT will be holding a Public Information Meeting on Thursday, March 23 to discuss construction completed to date and what is planned for work this spring.

The Needham Newton Corridor Project will improve traffic safety and operations and multimodal accommodations (transit, bicycle, and pedestrians) extending from the intersection of Highland Avenue and Webster Street in Needham to the intersection of Winchester Street and Route 9 in Newton. The project excludes the area immediately adjacent to and above Route 128/I-95, which was part of an earlier project. The project also includes widening the bridge over the Charles River to accommodate all modes of travel.
