Overview   of New Bedford - Route 18 Corridor Study public information meeting

A Live Virtual Public Information Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed Route 18 Corridor Study project in New Bedford, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Route 18 Corridor Study project. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed study will identify and evaluate design concepts to improve access for all users of the corridor, including pedestrians, bicycles, transit, and motorists along Route 18 from Elm Street to Coggeshall Street in New Bedford. The goals of the study are to develop concepts to improve access between Purchase Street and Route 18; improve connections across Route 18 and along Route 18; facilitate economic development along the corridor; and provide access between Route 18 and the new South Coast Rail Station. This is the third of four planned information meetings to be held throughout 2021

Project inquiries, written statements and other exhibits regarding the proposed undertaking may be submitted to Carrie E. Lavallee, P.E., Acting Chief Engineer, via e-mail to DOTHighwayDesign@dot.state.ma.us or via US Mail to Suite 6340, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, Attention: Highway Design, Route 18 Study. Statements and exhibits intended for inclusion in the public meeting transcript must be emailed or postmarked no later than ten (10) business days after the meeting is posted to the MassDOT website listed below.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities.
