Overview of Pittsfield Complex Resource Management Plans Public Meeting 2/25/2025
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is holding an informational meeting and public listening session on the preparation of Resource Management Plans (RMPs) for the following locations in DCR’s Pittsfield Complex: Ashmere Lake State Park; Balance Rock State Park; Bates Memorial State Park; Bryant Mountain State Forest; Gilbert A. Bliss State Forest; Middlefield State Forest; October Mountain State Forest; Peru State Forest; Pittsfield State Forest (including South Mountain/West Region HQ); Richmond State Forest; Wahconah Falls State Park; and Worthington State Forest. The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public about the RMP planning process and to take comments about these properties. This is the first of two public meetings to be held concerning these properties. The second public meeting will be scheduled when draft RMPs are available for public review and comment.
The public will be invited to provide comments during the meeting, after the presentation, by unmuting their microphones, or the chat functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing on DCR’s Past events for DCR Public Meetings Information web page. DCR encourages the public to share additional feedback, with a deadline for receipt of comments by DCR of March 27th, 2025. Comments may be submitted via the DCR public comment portal. Please note that the content of comments you submit to DCR, along with your name, town, and zip code, will be posted on DCR's website. Additional contact information required when commenting, notably email address, will only be used for outreach on future updates on the subject project or property.
