Westfield Financial, Inc., Westfield, Massachusetts to acquire Chicopee Savings Bank, Chicopee, Massachusetts through a merger with its holding company, Chicopee Bancorp, Inc., Chicopee

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Bank Incorporation

Westfield Financial, Inc. (Westfield), Westfield, Massachusetts, has petitioned the Board of Bank Incorporation (Board) pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, chapter 167A, sections 2 and 4 for approval to acquire Chicopee Savings Bank (Chicopee), Chicopee, Massachusetts through a merger with its holding company, Chicopee Bancorp, Inc., Chicopee, Massachusetts. In a related transaction, CHICOPEE will be merged with and into Westfield’s federal savings association subsidiary, Westfield Bank, Westfield, Massachusetts and the banking offices of Chicopee will become branch offices of Westfield.

In determining whether or not to approve the matter before it, the Board must decide, among other things, whether competition among banking institutions will be unreasonably affected and whether public convenience and advantage will be promoted by this proposal.  A public hearing will be given to all interested parties on the petition before the Board on September 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Hearing Room 1-E, First Floor, 1000 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts.
