WIC Day celebration

On Thursday, May 2nd, the Massachusetts WIC Program will host the first ever WIC Day across the Commonwealth. The purpose of this day is to celebrate the Program, its services and most of all our WIC families! The events will offer an opportunity to learn more about the wonderful services WIC has to offer, including cooking demonstrations, healthy foods and physical activity while having fun! We are hosting over 31 events to welcome WIC families back and invite them to bring friends and families who may also be eligible for our services!

WIC is the premier nutrition program of the Department of Public Health and provides nutrition and health education, free nutritious food and access to health care to low-to moderate income pregnant women, infants and children under five. Massachusetts WIC currently serves nearly half of all Massachusetts infants and over 106,000 individuals.

Boston area

Boston

Boston Children Museum, 308 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210
10 a.m.–1 p.m.

South Cove WIC will host an open house at the Boston Children’s Museum.

Stop by for raffles, nutrition games, FitWIC & more!

WIC families can pay the discount rate of $2 per person to get into the Museum. You must bring your WIC card to pay only $2 per person cash admission. The discount applies for up to four people per card, per visit.

Cambridge

North Cambridge WIC Office, 284 Rindge Avenue, Cambridge

Cambridge WIC is hosting a WIC Tour! WIC staff will be on hand to answers questions about WIC and to enroll new clients! Light Refreshments will be served

Dorchester

Franklin Park Zoo, 1 Franklin Street, Boston
10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Franklin Park Zoo is opening their gates to WIC families to allow them to experience the magic of this 72-acre site with hundreds of exotic animals, exhibits and a 10,000 square foot playground.

WIC staff from the Dorchester, Roxbury, & East Boston offices will be on-hand offering free Face Painting, Story Time, Arts & Crafts, Raffles, and More!

*Free Admission to the Zoo for WIC families (up to 4 people) that show their WIC Card and a Photo ID

Jamaica Plain

Brookside Community Health Center Conference Room, 3297 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain
12 p.m.–3 p.m.

Jamaica Plain will host a Resource Fair along with Head Start, Healthy Families, Greater Boston Food Bank, ABCD and more! Stop by for prizes!

Revere

Revere WIC office, 300 Ocean Avenue
2:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.

Revere WIC will host an Open House. This fun afternoon will include hands-on training for WIC Shopping App and WICSmart. Stop by and bring your friends. Event will also include music, fun, prizes and more!

Cape Cod area

Falmouth

Falmouth WIC Office, 350 Gifford Street Unit w-2, 2^nd Floor
11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Falmouth WIC will be hosting a Tea Party for WIC families and friends. Event will include other family resources, food, prizes and more! Hats are welcome but not required!

*Participants who bring an eligible friend to the event will receive a free gift card!

Outer Cape — Chatham

Chatham Community Center Gym, 702 Main Street

Come Celebrate WIC Day at Chatham Community Center. Event will include free fun activities, healthy snacks, open play area, local resources & more! All are welcome!

Cental Massachusetts area

Framingham

Framingham WIC Office, 7 Bishop Street, Activities will take place in the Café on the 1^st floor, Board Room and Outdoor Parking Lot
12 p.m.–2 p.m.

Framingham WIC is hosting an open house that will include CPR demos, yoga, kid activities, ‘Touch a Fire Truck’ & more! This will be one ‘hot’ event not to miss!

Fitchburg

Fitchburg WIC Office, 49 Nursery Lane
11 p.m.–2 p.m.

Trading Spaces! Fitchburg WIC will be celebrating their new space and will showcase the resourcefulness of the WIC community in Fitchburg. The event will also include building tours, raffle prizes, snacks, art & crafts, and more! Everyone is welcome to attend.

SouthBridge

YMCA 43 Everett St, Southbridge
11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Southbridge WIC Day will be held at the Tri-Community YMCA Family Branch at the playground. They will be giving information packets out to families with free day passes included. Fun activities will be held for kids at the playground and WIC staff will be there to enroll new clients and answer any questions.

Upton

South Central WIC, 108 Mechanic Street, Upton
10 a.m.–12 p.m.

The WIC Office will be joining the nature walk with Beginning Bridges at 108 Mechanic St Upton MA.
Escape to nature and experience your child's delight, connect with other parents raising young children. WIC staff will be there to enroll new clients and answer any questions.

Worcester

Worcester WIC Office, 199 Chandler Street

Get Ready to Strike a Pose! WIC staff will host this fun event along with reps from Head Start, South Bay, REC, FHCW Dental, Worcester Public Library, and more! This fun event will include a photo booth, music, raffle basket, food & more!

Northeast area

Beverly

Beverly WIC office, 4 Ocean Street

Did you ever wonder what the Good Food Project is all about? The Beverly WIC office will host a hands-on demo to teach folks about cooking and shopping for WIC foods. Good news…free food samples will be provided!

Haverhill

Haverhill WIC office, 3 Washington Square

The Haverhill WIC office will have an Open House for WIC families, community partners, legislators and friends. They will offer Good Food Project Demos, outdoor activities & raffles!

Lawrence

Lawrence WIC Office, 305 Essex Street

Lawrence is hosting an Open House for clients, local leaders and members of the community. Event will include games, face painting, a yogurt bar, crafts and more!

Lowell

Step on Over to the Malden WIC Day Celebration! This office is just ‘steps away’ from the many family services in Malden. Community partners and WIC staff will be on hand to answer questions. Brockton

Brockton WIC Office, 795 Pleasant Street

Brockton WIC will host an Open House. This fun afternoon will be filled with demos of what’s new at WIC, Breastfeeding Services, Happiest Baby on the Block, kid’s activities, Food Sampling, raffles, and so much more!

Taunton WIC will host an open house. This event will feature the Good Food Project cooking demo, as well as hands on trainings for WICSmart (online nutrition education) and the WIC Shopper App. Folks will be welcome to take an office tour, enroll in WIC, and ask questions. Event will also include raffles, prizes & more!

Wareham

Plymouth WIC will host a Tea Party as an early Mother’s Day celebration! Event will feature finger foods, flowers, chair massages, crafts for kids, prizes and more!

Greenfield

Greenfield YMCA

Jump into Fitness! Join us for a WIC Family Fun Day at the YMCA in Greenfield. Families will have fun bouncing, jumping and tumbling in the YMCA Gymnastics Center. Folks will have the opportunity to meet WIC staff and participate in some fun activities!

Great Barrington

Berkshire South WIC office, 442 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington
3 p.m.–6 p.m.

Berkshire South WIC will be hosting a Baby Shower for all expecting mothers. There will be games, prizes, raffles, food, and swag bags will be given out to all moms! All expecting moms are invited!

Holyoke

Holyoke Heritage State Park Visitor Center, 221 Appleton Street
1 p.m.–4 p.m.

Families can come anytime during the event. There will be vendor tables, reading time with free books to take home, kid’s activities, hula hooping competition, cooking demos (with free samples) and so much more! Be sure stop by!

North Adam

Berkshire North WIC, 71 Hospital Avenue, 3^rd floor, North Adam
11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Berkshire North WIC will host an Open House. Stations will be set up for Cooking Matters, Clothing Exchange, Berkshire Baby Box, Farmers’ Market, book exchange and more. Snacks will be provided.

Springfield

Mason Square, 11 Wilbraham Road, 2^nd floor in Springfield
9:30 a.m.–11 a.m.

Did someone say Zumba? This fun morning will include a family Zumba class, breakfast, free recipes and free referrals for families who attend. Don’t forget your dancing shoes for this event!
