FY 2025 Municipal (Local) Election Early Voting Cost Certification Survey

Survey for Local Elections held July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025 - Key Dates and Information

Welcome to the FY 2025 Municipal (Local) Election Early Voting Cost Certification Survey. The Massachusetts Office of the State Auditor (OSA) manages a certification process for municipalities’ early voting costs, first introduced in 2016 as part of the Commonwealth’s support for broader voter participation. Under the fiscal year 2025 state budget, the OSA’s Division of Local Mandates (DLM) will certify expenses related to vote-by-mail and in person early voting for local elections held July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Promptly providing the early voting expense information requested in this survey will ensure your municipality's costs are considered for certification.
