Program guidelines
Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP) helps people with disabilities (or who are over 60 years old) live independently at home. HMLP follows these guidelines:
All eligible borrowers receive a zero-interest deferred-payment loan.
Home modifications can include bathroom and kitchen upgrades, ramps, stair-lifts and/or platform lifts, sensory or therapy spaces, hard-wired alarm systems, fences, and accessory dwelling units.
Modifications do not include window, roof, heating, or septic repair.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for the Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP) if you:
are a Massachusetts resident,
have a disability,
have a household member or household members with a disability,
