If you don't agree with a decision made by the Prequalification Committee, you may appeal it.
The Prequalification Committee makes determinations within 2 days after the meeting date.

What you need for Appeal a determination made by the Prequalification Committee

To appeal a decision, submit a signed letter on company letterhead that states the reason for the appeal.

The Prequalification Appeal Board will hold the hearing and/or review.

  • Informal Review - A Contractor may request an informal review by the Committee. If you decide to do so, state your argument for a review of the decision. Your right to an informal review is in addition to your right to a formal hearing.
  • Formal Hearing - File your request for a formal hearing in writing by certified mail. The Prequalification Appeal Board, or its designee, will conduct a hearing without delay before they make a decision. The decision of the Committee will stay until the Appeal Board makes a decision in writing on the appeal. The decision of the Appeal Board will be final, subject to the right of the Contractor to a judicial review under M.G.L. c. 30A.

The Committee meets every Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Firms can call after the meeting to inquire about a request.
