How to apply

1. Submit the initial training application to the vehicle check program at:

55 Messina Dr., Unit C, Braintree, MA 02184

2. Complete the training course

3. Send the application, materials, and fees to the RMV at:

Next steps

Renewal

Your license must be renewed every year, and you must attend a re-certification training every 2 years.

Non-commercial and commercial training includes emissions and safety components, while 7D and motorcycle training includes the safety component only. The commercial training also includes additional material that meets the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements for commercial motor vehicle inspectors.
