Introduction
Learn more about reciprocity regulation 237 CMR 15.00.
The Board has an agreement with New Hampshire to accept Journeyman and Master licenses ONLY IF they were obtained by passing an exam in New Hampshire.
Required Supporting Documents:
Journeyman License:
- License Verification/Certified Letter: Obtain from the New Hampshire Board, including full name, address, license type/number, current status, and Board seal. PDF uploads are accepted.
- CORI Authorization Form: Complete, notarize, and submit a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) Authorization Form.
- Photo: Provide a recent, passport-quality color photo.
- Disciplinary Actions (if applicable): Submit documents detailing any past or pending disciplinary actions on any professional license, with certified records.
- Criminal Convictions (if applicable): Submit documents detailing any past felony or misdemeanor convictions, with certified court records.
Master License:
- MA Journeyman License: A copy of a current MA Journeyman license or indication of an application also submitted for the Journeyman license by reciprocity.
- License Verification/Certified Letter: Same requirements as for Journeyman, but specific to the Master License.
- CORI Authorization Form: Complete, notarize, and submit a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) Authorization Form.
- Photo: Provide a recent, passport-quality color photo.
- MA 150hr Master Electrician Program: Provide documentation of completion.
- Standing Letter (if applicable): Provide an official letter for each professional license held in another jurisdiction, issued within 90 days of the application date.
- Disciplinary Actions (if applicable): Same requirements as for Journeyman.
- Criminal Convictions (if applicable): Same requirements as for Journeyman.
Note: All submitted documents become the property of the Board.

How to apply Apply for reciprocity for an out-of-state electricians license
All applications must be submitted online through the Division of Occupational Licensure’s (DOL) ePLACE portal.
Applicants need to complete the online application and upload electronic copies of all required documents.
Please refer to the list above for the necessary documents. Keep the original copies, as the Board may ask for them later.

Application review and processing time
The Board needs at least 10 business days to review and approve an application. They will only review complete applications. If any required information or documents are missing, your application will be considered incomplete and may be denied.
